In order to qualify for the BCS Tech 10 Accreditation, you must:
- Sign up to sit a Microsoft Certified Fundamentals certification at your academic organisation.
- Ahead of testing, register a ‘Test Candidate’ account with Certiport by visiting www.certiport.com/register.
- During registration, enter an email address into the ‘Student ID’ box.
- On successful completion of an MCF exam, the BCS will email information on your new benefits to the email address entered here:
- Once you have completed registration of your Certiport Test Candidate account, log into www.certiport.com and, on your MY CERTIPORT page, scroll down to the bottom of the ‘My Exams’ section.
- To register for the BCS Tech 10 Accreditation exam group, enter the code 2634248 into the ‘Exam Group ID’ box (as shown below), then click ‘Register Me’:
Candidates subscribing to this group are agreeing to share their name and email address with the BCS for the purposes of receiving the BCS Tech 10 accreditation. Students successfully passing a Microsoft Fundamentals exam will receive an email from the BCS with information on the accreditation and associated benefits.
On the exam day:
- Notify your teacher/lecturer/trainer that you will be sitting your MCF exam to qualify for the BCS Tech 10 accreditation.
- When instructed, log into Compass (the Certiport exam software) with your Test Candidate username and password.
- ‘Launch an Exam’
- On the Welcome screen, under ‘Do you have an Exam Group ID today?’, select ‘Yes’.
- Select the ‘BCS Tech 10’ Exam Group from the drop-down menu. If the Exam Group is not displayed in the drop-down, enter the code 2634248 in the ‘Enter Exam Group’ box.
Candidates subscribing to this group are agreeing to share their name and email address with the BCS for the purposes of receiving the BCS Tech 10 accreditation. Students successfully passing a Microsoft Fundamentals exam will receive an email from the BCS with information on the accreditation and associated benefits.
- Select the desired MCF exam title:
- Accept the ‘Microsoft Exam Non-Disclosure Agreement and EULA Agreement’:
- On the ‘Verify & Unlock Exam’ screen, the proctor is required to check the information has been entered correctly, including the exam group details, before entering their Proctor username and password to verify & unlock the exam.
- Successfully pass the MCF exam.
After the exam:
- You can download your MCF certificate from your ‘Test Candidate’ profile.
- At the end of each calendar month, the BCS will download a report of successful candidates and send a congratulatory email to each candidate who passes an MCF exam. This email will contain details on how to access the new BCS benefits via the MyBCS portal, including:
